Chilly bob´s ursprünglicher Einfluß der "funk grooves" und des "deep soul" ist immer noch spürbar, allerdings wird der Stil inzwischen kombiniert mit "acid jazz" und leichten "hip-hop" Elementen. Im März 96 begann die steile Karriere als Chilly bob als Support Act von der legendären kalifornischen Soulformation Tower of Power engagiert wurde. Nach dem großartigen Erfolg ist es kein Wunder, daß sich dieses Engagement im Juli 98 wiederholte. Anfang 97 produzierte Chilly bob mit Edo Zanki das erste offizielle Album, die M-CD "Check it in". Der Titel Change avencierte in kurzer Zeit zu einem absolute Insidertip und brachte Chilly bob in Holland den ersten internationalen Durchbruch. Was folgte war sowohl ein gemeinsames Konzert mit der holländischen Saxophongöttin Candy Dulfer als auch ein Konzert vor 30.000 Zuschauern u.a. mit Keb´Mo und Neneh Cherry. Die inzwischen internationalen Kontakte hatten zur Folge daß 98 diverse Gastmusikerjobs einzelner Bandmitglieder folgten. So wurden beispielsweise die ehemaligen Grammy Gewinner

Chilly bob hat in den vergangenen Monaten an einem neuen Album gearbeitet. Wie auch schon die 97er M-CD "Check it in" ausverkauft und nur noch über www.mp3.com zu erhalten - wurde der Silberling mit 11 brandneuen Songs in den Kangaroo Digital Audio Studios bei Edo Zanki produziert. Mit den neuen Songs, so zeigte sich bei den Freunden und Fans von Chilly bob, wurde scheinbar der Trend genau getroffen. Weltweit wurde die Vorproduktion von Truly believe bei mp3.com veröffentlicht und konnte sich über Monate auf Platz 1 im Genre Soul halten. Mit beim neuen Album sind übrigens hochkarätige Special Guests:

Nachdem Chilly bob sich im vergangenen Jahr 99 mehr als rar gemacht hat, wird dieses Jahr wohl wieder einiges zu hören sein. Außer einer Tour durch Deutschland

sind außerdem einige Gigs u.a. in England geplant.
