Alta Marea Alta has been performing for more than 20 years at major Jazz festivals and cultural events. The group is comprised of professional musicians with ample experience in studio work and live presentations in the United States and overseas. Local venues (in the Atlanta area) have included Centennial Olympic Park, Woodstock City Park, the Sandy Springs Festival, Fernbank Museum for Martinis & IMAX, Sambuca Jazz Café, several Atlanta Jazz Festivals, the Riverbend Music Festival in Chattanooga, Tennessee, as well as numerous showcases at the Grand Hyatt Hotel's Sunday Jazz Brunch. In addition, the group has appeared on local television (NBC and FOX), radio shows, and private events and benefits.
Marea Alta’s music is strictly original and is currently being broadcast on several Jazz-oriented radio stations in Australia and Venezuela. Last year, on March 26, 2006, the network of PBS in Australia selected the group among a catalog of international Jazz artists for the second time to be included on a CD showcasing a musical collection containing Latin Jazz music around the world.
