Evan Marks
One of the most popular pop/jazz groups, Fattburger has been classified by some as "New Adult Contemporary Music," "contemporary jazz" or "smooth jazz." The San Diego-based unit has survived through many trends and still plays the same type of accessible funky music that was its original goal. While many trends and new artists have come and gone in the last decade, Fattburger endures on the strength of what Evans calls "remaining true to ourselves, focusing on feeling rather than the latest sound." Saxophonist Hollis Gentry and the other musicians (keyboardist Carl Evans, bassist Mark Hunter, drummer Kevin Koch and guitarist Steve Laury) are Fattburger. Tommy Aros in recent times joined the band as their percussionist and in the early 1990's when Laury started a solo career, Evan Marks became Fattburger's guitarist. His solo albums are: Long Way Home Released: 04/18/95 Three Day Weekend Released: 01/13/98 He also worked with: Tom Aros , Alec Milstein, Mark Hunter, Guy Eckstine, Pete Belasco, Brian Krinek, Devon Soles, John Pace, Rob Whitlock, Steve Russell, Kevin Koch, Carl Evans, Art Porter, Jeff Lorber and Hollis Gentry on different projects.
