Wolfgang Haffner
Wolfgang Haffner was born December 7th, 1965 in
Wunsiedel/Germany. He started
playing Drums and Piano at the age of 7. When he was 18 he got a call from
Trombonist Albert Mangelsdorff to join his German-French Jazz Ensemble
Jazzensemble (1984-1989). He was also a Member of the Chaka Khan Band
(94-95) and Klaus Doldingers Passport (1989-2000). In 1994 he was introduced
by the legendary Bassplayer Anthony Jackson to Guitarist CHUCK LOEB and
Keyboard player MITCHEL FORMAN to play in a Group called METRO. So far METRO
recorded 3 Albums ("Metro", "Tree People", "Metrocafe")
and touerd Europe
several times. The Rhythmsection with Wolfgang on Drums and German Bassplayer
Dieter Ilg is one of the finest in Europe. Wolfgang also played Concerts
as a Guestsoloist with the Munich Radio Symphony Orchestra and the
Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra.
Wolfgang toured and recorded with Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker,
Jan Garbarek, Michael Franks, Bob James, Lalo Schifrin, Joe Sample,
Chuck Loeb, Gato Barbieri, Robben Ford, Chaka Khan, Eddie Daniels, Will Lee,

featuring Chuck Loeb, Will Lee, Charlie Mariano, Mitchel Forman, Tony Lakatos,
Andy Snitzer, Kim Waters, Till Brönner, Jeff Golub and Phil Upchurch.
Wolfgang played many Festivals, including: Montreux, Paris, Chicago,
Northsea Jazzfestival, Newport Beach, Berlin, Vienna, San Diego, Stuttgart,
Jazz Du Martinique, Nancy, Geneva, Amsterdam, Lugano.
He Toured in Argentinia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Chile, Uruquay,
Mexico, Peru, Bolivia, Columbia, Southafrica, USA, India, France,
Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Italiy, Jordan,
