Gregg Haynes

 

 

Gregg Haynes, a native of St. Louis, MO, is a gifted guitarist, music director, and band organizer.  Haynes has been blessed with a talent to share with others for more than twenty-five (25) years.  The nickname "Happy Guitar" was coined because of the joy and happiness that is felt by the heart every time he plays his guitar.

 Haynes is a recent recipient of the "Dr. Bobby Jones Unsigned Artist Award" in Nashville, Tennessee.  Other awards include, a Mayoral Proclamation as "Guitarist of the Year", Best Gospel Instrumental CD (Live & Direct), and most recently received an Honorary Citizenship Award from the Country of Ukraine, Europe.

       Gregg Haynes has accompanied and/or recorded with The O'Neal Twins, BeBe & CeCe Winans,  Edwin Hawkins, and many more.   He was the guitarist in the award winning documentary film, "Say Amen, Somebody" featuring Dr. Thomas A. Dorsey, "The father of Gospel Music."  Haynes also credits his accomplishments with being music director for several theatrical plays.  Recently, Haynes completed a two-week European tour including Helsinki, Finland, and Kiev, Ukraine with over 2,000 attendees at each concert.

Haynes is the President/CEO of Anointed Music Ministries, Inc.  AMM is a non-profit organization serving the community, through youth music workshops as well as providing special music at senior citizen facilities.

                                                                                  

        Gregg Haynes is the co-founder of the Two Smooth Duo featuring Rod Tate, an accomplished saxophonist, and Gregg Haynes & "The Happy Guitar."  Together they play music that soothe the soul and speak love to your spirit.

Haynes has completed two CD projects, "Live & Direct" & "A Taste of Christmas", which is in demand across the country.  He is now preparing his third CD project entitled, "I String Because I'm Happy."  Haynes talent is truly God given and every time he plays the "Happy Guitar", his desire is to bring happiness to people from all walks of life.
