Guitarist Brian Jordan joined Karl Denson's Tiny
Universe in April of 1999. His mission going into this new
millenniumhas been to emerge with free-form musical expression and
master higher levels of cosmic vibration. (To Earthlings this
translates into, "play the hell out of the guitar.")
Post-modern Jazz, Funk, Hip-hop, and World Music have formed the
launch pad for his musical excursions throughout the past decade.

Brian's interest in music and the guitar began at
the preschool age. He was exposed to such artists as Wes
Montgomery,Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66, Sly and the Family Stone,
The Jackson-5, and lots of other jazz, funk, R&B, Latin, pop,
rockand classical artists and music, through the family turn-table
and radio. At age eight, he began playing guitar; at thirteen he
learned Bass and Drums, and in high school he got his first keyboard
synthesizer and began experimenting with recording, composition and
electronic music.

Brian later studied music at UC Santa
Barbara, where he performed in the university's top jazz ensembles.
Upon moving back to San Diego, he co-founded one of San Diego's most
eclectic and renowned "progressive sub-pop" bands, Daddy
Longleggs, which also included Robert Walter of the Greyboy Allstars
and Robert Walter's Twentieth Congress. After five years, Daddy
Longleggs disbanded, and Brian began touring with International
reggae artists such as Foundation (from Jamaica), Victor Essiet and
the Mandators (from Nigeria), and "Ishmael" Sealy (from
Barbados). His music has taken him to many cities throughout the
United States, Hawaii and Mexico. While at home in San Diego, he
worked with various bands in the Southern California music scene. In
addition he has done studio sessions with international artists such
as Eek-a-Mouse, and local artists such as B-Side Players, R.A.
Brotherhood, and many more. With versatility as a strongpoint, Brian
has played everything from Reggae, Ska, Funk, Blues, Rock, Straight
Ahead Jazz to Acid Jazz.
