Guitarist Charlie Smith is a highly talented up and coming Indianapolis performer who is quickly gaining a reputation for captivating the interest of audiences with his expressive music styling and dynamic stage presence.

As a backing musician he has been in great demand for years by Indiana's most noted entertainers for his versatile repertoire including Swing, Latin, R&B, Jazz, and Pop. Smith has appeared on CDs and in concert with violinist Cathy Morris and pianist Steve Allee. In 1997 Charlie Smith performed at the world renowned Montreux Jazz Festival in Montreux, Switzerland with the "Steve Allee Contemporary Jazz Band."

Charlie is also a member of the house band for the nationally syndicated radio program: "The Bob and Tom Show". The show can be heard on more than eighty-nine radio stations, from coast to coast, and reaches an estimated audience of 3.5 million listeners daily. As a member of "The Bob and Tom Band", Smith appears on many of their charity benefit CDs and has performed, live - on the air, with Eddie Money, Gary Wright, and blues singer, guitarist Jonny Lang. Last year, Smith's creative talents earned him the role of Producer for Bob Kevoian's debut solo CD.

Drawing from his wealth of musical knowledge and a wide variety of influences, the guitarist has stepped into the Indianapolis Jazz Community spotlight as the leader of his own group, the "Charlie Smith Project". The group delivers a mix of great jazz standards, pop classics, and original compositions from Smith's award winning Smooth Jazz CD, "Absolutely," selected as "Indianapolis' Best Smooth Jazz CD" of 1999 by NUVO Magazine.
