At the age of eleven,
guitarist/producer 'Earl Carter' bought a couple of how to books and
proceeded to teach himself how to play guitar. At age fifteen, he picked
up the saxophone and joined his high school concert band, marching band
and jazz ensemble. He practiced on both instruments for several hours
everyday in hope of someday becoming a professional musician. Although
he became proficient on both instruments, he eventually decided to focus
primarily on sharpening his guitar playing skills.
During the late '80s and early '90s, Earl was a member of the platinum
hit-making dance/GoGo band, "EU." With EU, he recorded music
on the soundtrack to Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing and the GoGo Live
music video. In 1999, Earl laid several guitar tracks for many artists
at P. Diddy's New York City recording facility, "Daddy's
House." He has also co-produced dialogue recordings with his
production partner J.R. Fenwick for motivational speakers Les Brown and
Willie Jolley, author George Fraser and sports stars Jawan Howard and
Nikki McCray.
Over the years, Earl has performed with many local and world-renowned
artists. As a side man and/or freelance musician, he has worked with

Baldwin, Mike Phillips, Michael Lington, Freddie Jackson, Angela Bofill,
Regina Belle, Rhian Benson, Tony Terry, Coolio, Bobby Humphrey, Gerald

programs some of which aired on television including; The Ghana Jazz
Festival 2003, The Bermuda Jazz Festival 2002, The Bermuda Jazz Festival
2003, The National Smooth Jazz Awards 2002 and many others. In addition
to the festivals, he spent time participating in local cable TV show
tapings and played on several CD recordings that received national
airplay and/or distribution including; Bobby Lyle's - Straight and
Smooth, Marcus Johnson's -Live @ Blues Alley, Marcus Johnson's Live - In
Person DVD, Marcus Johnson's - Just Doing What I Do, Jaared's - Hangtime,

As a front man/guitarist, Earl has opened for world-renowned jazz
artists such as Pieces of a Dream, Spyro Gyra, Bona Fide and many others.
He's done hundreds of shows, many of which have been for contemporary
jazz and straight ahead radio stations i.e. WJZW 105.9, 95.9 in
Baltimore and WPFW in Wash. DC. His No Frettin project reached heavy
rotation on college radio WHOV in Hampton VA and several copies were
sold via live concerts and the internet. Earl uses world class players
in his band and makes every effort to give his audience a spactacular
show. He ocasionally performs at the legendary jazz club "Blues
Alley" located in Washington DC and has just released this
outstanding new CD project.
Earl currently writes contemporary jazz, adult contemporary, R&B,
