Inner Shade

Inner Shade is the brainchild of Incognito's main man "Bluey", and their album "4 Corners" is the first chosen release for his Rice Records label. At the forefront of the band are Bass maestro Randy Hope-Taylor , Saxophonists/ Flutists Ed Jones and Chris De Margary, who have all been in Incognito on various occasions.

They are joined by "Jazz Guitar genius" Mark Whitfield. This talented Quartet have all featured with some of the biggest names in the music world, including Jeff Beck, Steve Winwood, Basia, Simply red, George Benson, D'Angello, Jimmy Smith and many more. Part instrumental, part vocal, the project consists of many Incognito musicians and singers but also features some new and diverse talents.

Incognito favourites Maysa and Chris Ballin provide soulful voices to the songs, whilst Mark Whitfield's incredible Guitar spearheads the instrumentals. Casting their musical spells over the ivories are Graham Harvey, Peter Hinds and Gary Sanctuary.

The vital ingredient to the uniqueness of this offering is the combination of the organic sound of Richard Bailey, Eshan Khadaroo and Thomas Dyani on Drums and Percussion and the programmed (From Bossa to drum 'n' bass) broken beats of Daniel "Venom" Maunick. Engaging beats and rhythms create the foundations for cascading guitar lines, sensual voices and Simon Hale's cinematic strings arrangements, as musicians play with reckless abandon.

Recorded and mixed in Bluey's studio with engineer Simon Cotsworth ever present to ensure the highest sonic resolutions. Production duties are handled by Bluey.

All in all a family affair.
