Lin Rountree

Lin Rountree, the Jazz and R&B Trumpeter, is the latest artist to emerge from the 'new' Detroit music factory. His playing has been described as soulful, funky, and inspirational. Be it R&B, or Jazz, he has an innate ability to connect his music to his listener's soul. And his charm, intelligence and wit make him a great entertainer on and off of the bandstand.

Lin began playing the trumpet in Alexandria VA. when he was just 11 yrs. old. In high school he frequently attended music workshops at the famed Duke Ellington School of performing arts in Washington DC. Upon graduating he was accepted to and given a scholarship to play in the world famous marching band, "The Marching 100" at Florida A&M University. There he began a life long love of Jazz.

During the past few years, Lin has received international acclaim for his music and performances and has been dubbed a member of the "new generation" of future smooth jazz stars. He has also shared the stage/studio with the likes of KEM, Dwele, Tim Bowman, George Benson, Peter White, Conya Doss Deitrick Hadden and a host of others.

Lin's debut project, GROOVETREE, BDK Records 2005,  released to rave reviews from key industry leaders.

Groovetree's first single "For Your Love f/Tim Bowman" stayed on the SJ Charts for 15 weeks as Lin's sound drew strong comparisons to Rick Braun and Chris Botti showing the world that Rountree is the real deal.

Through a partnership with industry moguls Hank Caldwell and Kendall Minter of NDN, LLC, Lin recently signed a national distribution deal with Ryko/Warner Bros.  and released Sumthin' Good, Lin's sophmore effort, in June 2008.

When you hear the new album and/or see Lin perform you will no doubt understand why he is headed for smooth jazz stardom.
