An R&B finalist for SONG OF THE YEAR (In support of VH1s Save The Music”) THE SOUND OF CEREBRAL SOUL WAS BORN. In June 2005, J. Kari signed a songwriter/co-publishing
deal with the Hollywood Music placement company, Transition Music Corporation. In December 2005 a 6 song deal with Private Wavs Publishing was signed to lisence J. Kari songs and Talking Book performances for Film and T.V.

Gospel-primed soul singer Sam Salter spent several years in the choir of the Faithful Church of God in Christ in his native Los Angeles, then crossed to the secular side of the tracks for his 1997 recording debut, It's On Tonight. As well as his religious inspirations, Salter was early influenced by the classic soul of Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, winning several local talent shows as a teenager. He recorded a demo tape that was heard by super producer L.A. Reid, the co-head of LaFace Records, and he soon signed a contract with one of the most hyped urban R&B labels in the U.S. Salter worked with the other half of LaFace, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, to record his album debut, It's On Tonight which yielded the hits After 12, Before 6 (Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks #19 , The Billboard Hot 100 #51) in 1997, There You Are (Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks #31, There You Are The Billboard Hot 100 #57) in 1998. The album was followed by “Little Black Book” released in 2000 yielding The 2000 hit “Once My Sh…” . Behind record sales of 300,000 + Sam has performed in concert and on tour with Destiny’s Child, Dru Hill, Jagged Edge, Ginuwine, and the stellar Frankie Beverly & Maze. He along with J. Kari comprise the heart and soul of the new cerebral
soul sound of Talking and serve the principle production team. Talking Book is excited about the opportunity to bring Sam Salter back to the fore front of R&B with a new signature sound.

Talking Book also includes the passionate vocals and musical skills of William “MrJonz” Jones . The vocalist that performed “On A September Morn”, Kiana Teal a 24 year strong soulful new voice.
That can be heard both on lead and background vocals, and Michael Anthony Thomas and his smooth rich full tenor. MrJonz has one independent solo release GROVES and BALLADS which he wrote and produced himself, and just finished producing “Freedom of Preach” on the Ludacris CD “Release Therapy” which just topped the Billboard Top 200 charts. Michael Anthony has one independent gospel release MICHAEL ANTHONY’S FIRST SONG. Talking Book is what you might call a new super indie band with veteran experience, and a unique new signature sound.
