Steve Weingart, from Dayton, Ohio began his musical career playing piano at age three. In his formative years of classical study, Steve was honored with numerous awards.

As Steve explored various types of music, he was strongly influenced by the music of jazz masters Josef Zawinul, McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, and Red Garland. This began the evolution of the jazz musician he is today.

In 1984 Steve was awarded a full scholarship at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music to further his study of jazz. It was during this period that Steve's writing and playing abilities were brought to the forefront. His mastery of the keyboard and programming expertise quickly thrust him into the thick of the Cincinnati music scene.

In 1994 Steve decided on a change of scenery and moved to Los Angeles CA, where he has found his way with many new musical experiences. Steve is now based in Burbank, California and along with his busy local playing schedule, he is touring worldwide with the Dave Weckl Band supporting the Band's latest recordings "Transistion" and "Perpetual Motion".

His most recent project is the release of his debut cd entitled "Life Times vol. 01". The cd was written, mixed and prouced by himself with the exception of a tune called "Love, Me" which was written by Renee Jones.The cd was recorded in December, 2002 on Macintosh computers using the Mark of the Unicorn 2408 and 896 Audio Interface Systems utilizing Digital Performer software by Mark of the Unicorn. Steve played a Steinway B Model piano recorded with two AKG C12VR microphones, 2 Neve 1073 pre amplifiers and an Apogee PSX100Se Word Clock.

Some great musicians performed on the cd. Hussain Jiffry on bass and vocals, Chad Wright on drums, Gary Meek on soprano saxophone, Cassio Duarte on percussion, Robben Ford on guitar, Ted Karas on guitar, Satnam Ramgotra on tabla, and Renee Jones on vocals.

Steve is currently on the road again with the Dave Weckl Band which is always a good time and an opportunity to play with some of his good friends and great musicians... Dave Weckl, Tom Kennedy and Gary Meeks.
