talented musicians I work with and listen to .... and more!.
Bio:
Stevie taught himself piano at the age of eight and had his first
trumpet lesson at 12 years old. He started to play Bass after listening
to soul records, and soon inspired to become a professional player.
After leaving Music College he formed his first pro-band playing local
pubs and clubs and any free-lance gigs he could. His first break came
via a letter post-marked Hawaii asking if he would join a Jazz Trio
working onboard the QE2 cruise liner sailing from New York. It was an
incredible learning experience for Stevie. "There was so much music,
we could play a different set each night!". On days off he would
hang out in New York and take in as much live music as possible. This
had a big influence on his return to the UK.

His performance, production, recording and touring credits include the
core of the studio and live band, Stevie's regular working unit. These
are friends, and the warmth of familiarity between the players is alive
in the grooves, a natural habitat and laboratory for Stevie's groove
fuelled jazz. Stevie may play a supportive role providing the root of
the harmonic structure or solo or play the melody upfront, inspired by
the musicians who placed the bass firmly in the frontline. He alternates
between punchy rhythm and voluptuous backdrops. The jubilant spirit
never fails.
