Pianist and keyboardist David Bach recorded the album About Last Night during the summersounds Concert Series in Greensburg, PA. on August 11th, 2019. The album will be released June 20, 2024. David played on this concert keyboards. He was accompanied by Al Williams (sax, flute), Lorenzo Sands (bass, voice), Damon Foreman (bass, voice), Eddie Montalvo (percussion), and Rodney Dunton (drums). The concert opens with Rite or Wrong, a powerful, energetic piece, which is presented here in a live version that offers all the artists involved enough space for extensive solos. David's keyboard solo is extensive and full of accretion. The tune was taken from David's album Perficiendi (2020) and Otherworld (2013). Clocks is an alternative rock song of the British formation Coldplay from their second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head (2003). The piano progression of the piece is a treat for any fan of black and white keys and even David couldn't resist its allure. There And Back is the second tune presented from the album Otherworld. The melody loses itself in ethereal heights carried by a waltz-like swing. The saxophone adds jazzy elements to the romanticizing theme. Gymnopedie is the name for a nude dance or festival in ancient Greek. French composer and pianist Erik Satie has written three compositions of this theme. David Bach has chosen Gymnopedie No. 1, but makes out of a more tranquil piece a vivid cover featuring Al Williams on flute. The tune was published for the first time on David's album Fierce Heart (2020). Next tune is City Lights, which also appeared for the first time on David's album Otherworld. This fresh song with an uplifting Al Williams on sax stands the test of time. A further tune from this album is Angels which brings with it a rather melancholy aura. The album ends with Sweet Spot from the above mentioned album. This tune tends to contemporary jazz and appeals to the intellectual ganglia.
