Piet has written and arranged all songs on his new album. He performs piano, synthesizer, Hammond Organ, vocoder, Electric Grand, Rhodes and string ensemble. He is supported by Martin Olding (electric guitar), Christian Gorecki (bass), Buddy Taco (drums), Gert Woyczechowki (percussion, vibraphone), Peter Muller (bass), Frank Schöttl (tenor saxophone, flute), Milroy Peter (bass), Guy Halbout (drums), Martin Gruet (double bass), Thomas Denzin (fretless bass), Monika Fughe (cello), Julia Molnar (violin), Imke Albert (viola), Kristof Hinz (drums), and Jörn Schipper (drums). The album opens with the uplifting Morning Sun, which spreads joy and hope with vibrant piano notes. Sea Shore Drive gives the impression of a picturesque drive along a coastline with a pinch of sea air and numerous visual sights. The relaxed piano performance continues with Dear Bill. When the sun rises dispelling the darkness, a new day is promised. Rising underlines this moment of enlightenment. The slow-tempo Thankful presents Piet's romantic side in a lyrical style. Jamaican Vibes introduces us to the Caribbean world in a light reggae aptitude. More Caribbean-inspired music gives us Caribbean Flair with a little Bossa Nova in the musical veins. A shower can be a moment of self-care, a way to clear your head and reset. Have No Power? Take a Shower! dives into the world of swinging jazz. Ascending melodies can symbolize rising hope, overcoming obstacles, and the upward movement towards light. Light Up the Darkness fuses piano interpretation with gentle strings. In contrast, Catwalk offers an energetic, funky piece inspired by the TV show Germany's Next Top Model. Peter Muller's involvement and influence on the piece is pleasantly noticeable. Moods Vol. 2 once again lets a gentle melody ring through the ears. Just Checkin' is reminiscent of old rock and roll times. The slow piano piece Daydreamer underlined by sax and keyboard chords gives time to reflect and dream. In the middle of the piece, a significant melody crystallizes, which gives the piece more substance. Home To You is a touching song about longing and a sense of belonging. Piet creates a gentle and inviting melody with piano sounds that create a warm atmosphere. The album ends with a reprise of Thankful.
