Ella & The Bossa Beat is a father & daughter duo founded by Ella and Magrus Borges. They present a Brazilian jazz/pop music style that combines Bossa Nova grooves with a soulful jazz influence. In 2020, they released their first album together called ˜My Remedy' which caught the attention of jazz and pop fans around the world. Ella and Magrus released their second album titled 'In the Moment' in November 2022, which introduces a soulful and classy style. It is becoming increasingly popular among jazz enthusiasts, Brazilian jazz listeners and soul/jazz followers. Currently they play many jazz venues, private events, festivals and have a residency at Universal Studios in Orlando FL. After releasing their latest CD, they plan to book shows and tour Europe, Brazil and abroad. Magrus Borges is a drummer, percussionist, composer and producer from Belem do Para, Brazil. He has played and recorded with many international artists such as: Shakira, Grace Jones, Astrud Gilberto, Tania Maria, Larry Coryell, Caetano Veloso, Luis Melodia, Johnny Alf (one of Bossa Nova's fathers), etc. He is currently touring and records with Bebel Gilberto (daughter of legendary sire of Bossa Nova, Joao Gilberto). In 2021, Magrus was nominated for a Grammy Award together with Bebel Gilberto for her CD 'Agora'. He has recorded six original albums, produced for various artists and is a member of the Recording Academy. His daughter Ella Borges was born in Miami and grew up in Brazil. She sings in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. Besides singing, she plays the piano, guitar, writes lyrics, composes, arranges and co-produces with her father. At the age of twenty-two, she presents a sophisticated and unique style, given her Brazilian roots and her jazzy soulful voice. In 2020, Ella received the award 'The Focus Brazil' for best singer in Orlando. She is also a graduate of Stetson University with a degree in International Business and Music. Ella is a member of the Recording Academy and takes private lessons with jazz pianist Garry Dial. Their new album contains 9 original tracks, which they sing themselves in both English and Portuguese. They are assisted by musicians from Brazil, Canada and the USA. On the ballad "Why" it is by Rodrigo Sha, on "Dreamer" it is by Kim Freitas, on "Forever" by Alain Bradette, on "Show Me the Way" by Jonathan Dills, on "Estrelas no ceu" by Larry Williams , on 'Slipping away' by Kim Freitas.
