Three years ago I was first introduced to guitarist & multi-instrumentalist Lowell Hopper. At the time, his smooth & contemporary jazz reminded me of the work of George Benson. Of the 20 albums he released from the mid-nineties, this might be his best work!

His indie smooth jazz is based on a colorful blend of sharp electric guitar, cheering bass lines, haunting melodies, funky grooves and fresh beats.

Lowell grew up in Virginia and was introduced to music at a young age, often listening to his father play acoustic guitar and sing in their home. Lowell began playing guitar himself at the age of 6, and nine years later he was playing guitar and bass in R&B and blues bands in nightclubs.

After college, Lowell joined the U.S. Air Force when he was inspired to begin writing and producing his own music. During Lowell's twenty-year career in the Air Force, he performed and recorded with numerous jazz artists in Germany, the Panama Canal and Florida. His loyal followers span generations and have enjoyed his performances time and time again.

Now his latest digital album has arrived here, which features 7 brand new tracks. These soulful, instrumental "feel good" songs are a perfect fit for chilling out and letting off stress on a warm summer evening. Lowell composed all the tracks himself, and plays guitar, guitar synthesizer, bass and keyboards. He is joined on the closing track only by J. Cirt Gill on electric bass.

Once again, a fun album that will appeal to fans of jazzy and smooth guitar music!
