Korean jazz guitarist Jack Lee released a new concept album together with legendary bassist Nathan East in September. Spiritual melodies are central to this. A fusion of gospel ethos and jazz virtuosity, this album is a testament to the power of music to uplift and inspire, especially in these challenging times. A healing project from one of Korea's leading guitarists and one of the world's best bassists! We mainly know bassist Nathan East from his work with Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston. But he was also part of the band Fourplay. This is his first project with Jack Lee, and it transcends genre boundaries and features such renowned talents as Grammy-winning pianist John Beasley, legendary drummer Steve Ferrone and organ prodigy Noah East, son of Nathan East. In doing so, they create a rich tapestry of sound and brilliant performances that resonate deeply with the human soul. Bach's 'Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring' opens in a slightly classical atmosphere, followed by Stevie Wonder's 'Have a Talk with God'. 'Libera Me' can be traced back to Gabriel Fauré, after which 'Heaven Knows' is an original track by Jack. Ayaka Hirahara sings the ballad 'It's You', which also appears instrumentally at the end. Also included is an arrangement of Simon & Garfunkel's 'Bridge over Troubled Water', the classic 'Amazing Grace', and Nathan's original title track. A spiritual album that fits perfectly with Christmas! Subdued and intimate! |
