American composer, pianist and producer Dan Alan Levine is currently enjoying success with his new smooth jazz single 'Our Kind of Love'.

Dan was born and raised in a New York suburb and graduated with a graduate degree from The Manhattan School of Music. He used to compose and arrange on a freelance basis for big bands, composed, orchestrated and arranged background music for TV games, as well as the tune for 'What's My Line'. He received numerous Awards, such as a Tony Award for the music of the Broadway musical 'Anna Karenina'.

However, this new album is my first introduction to him. He opens it with the cheerful title track, which immediately makes you want to dance, and on which flautist Kim Scott is a guest.

The first, and well-known, up-tempo single 'Our Kind of Love' follows, with the help of saxophonist Jeanette Harris and Kim Scott. This is a beautiful song, and it was my introduction to Dan. 'Cozumel' would be the second single, again with Jeanette Harris, after which the ballad 'Always' is next.

On the mid-tempo tones of 'Over Easy' you can also hear Kim Scott, followed by the wonderfully relaxed 'Smooth Sailing'. 'Pathetique' is also a ballad, after which the tempo picks up with the cheerful 'Puddle Jumping'.

Jeanette Harris is present again on 'Sybille', and then we go 'Sky Skippin'. Cheerful, cheerful and full of energy we hop on, after which 'Today's the Day' becomes the last track. After a calm intro, this closing pops out of the speakers.

A beautiful album that makes me long for more! This is an example of how smooth jazz should sound. I can therefore only recommend it. Thank you Dan for that beautiful music!
