I have been following independent smooth jazz and chill-out artist Mike Murray for years. He discovered the piano as a young man during summer camps. While in school, Mike was part of a funk band as a drummer.

However, he chose to temporarily quit music, but was influenced by George Duke, Stanley Clarke, FourPlay, Santana, Hiroshima, Paul Hardcastle, Alex Bugnon, Earth Wind & Fire, Sly Stone, Mandrill, among others.

In 2005, Mike decided to follow in his father's footsteps as a pianist. Two years later, he released his "Skyline" CD. Now he has released his latest digital album, which I hereby present to you.

That one is themed "Destinations," and opens with our arrival at New York Central Station to the tones of 'The City That Never Sleeps.' From there we switch to 'The Beltline (Atlanta)' and visit 'Freeport'. 'Chi Town Step' is obviously a reference to Chicago "the windy city," after which we turn to 'The Bay.' 'Yolo in Soho' lands us in London, followed by the single 'Barcelona'.

From there we fly back to the USA with destination Las Vegas to the tones of 'Fremont Street (Old Vegas)'. We briefly catch the northern lights with 'The Northern Lights', then conclude with a glitzy visit to Ghana with 'Ghana Bobobo Whine'. So a fun way to kick off another trip, and I'm definitely going to do that.

In the meantime, enjoy Mike Murray's fun musical impressions!
