African-American guitarist JC Smith was already featured here with his
previous album 'Smooth Nights'. Johnathan "JC" Smith was deeply
influenced by the culture and sounds of his community. Even as a child he was attracted to music and the musicians who played it. And now JC seeks to perform music that appeals to fans across the musical spectrum. With real instruments, real voices...
His debut 'Smooth Nights' was released in 2021, and now his new album continues that journey. It contains a collection of contemporary jazz, R&B (soul) and Southern soul. He wrote, arranged, produced and performed everything himself.
At the forefront is the beautiful instrumental single 'Callin' U', followed by 'Ride Wit' Me'. 'Take U Away' sounds a bit more funky, and 'I Fall In Love' is a romantic ballad. The danceable and funky 'Fallin For U' picks up the pace, followed by 'All For U', which is more mid-tempo.
The ballad 'Waiting For U' comes next, and the "smooth saxophone mix" of 'I Fall in Love' is the next track. The instrumental 'Your Light' comes next, while 'Back Down Home' sounds like there is a fair in town. The “smooth guitar mix” of 'All For U' is the penultimate track, followed by the closing track 'Away (Our Journey Continues).
