Earlier this year I discovered Spanish songwriter, arranger, producer, bass guitar multi-instrumentalist and singer Nacho Valenciaga from Madrid.

He was born on July 20, 1967 as Juan Ignacio Sánchez Hernández. Nacho started his musical career at the age of 14 as a drummer in a youth band. A little later he switched to being a singer and guitarist, to eventually focus on the bass guitar. Since 2012 he has mainly focused on smooth jazz, soul and R&B. Earlier this year he released the Bible on smooth jazz.

Now the next album has arrived here, and on it he brings a swinging tribute to the golden age of animation. Two singles have already been taken from it, the first was ‘Beep-Beep!’ and the second is the title track.

Nacho mixes smooth jazz with the humorous cartoons of the 50s and 60s. The title track introduces us to the musical adventure of Cool One, a charismatic white cat with jazz in his soul, who is always one step ahead of his clumsy but sympathetic pursuer Bluff. Together with his loyal friend Big Moe and the charming Trixie, Cool One glides through infectious rhythms and brings this lively and nostalgic story to life.

A fun album that will appeal to both smooth jazz fans and cartoon lovers!
