Lizz Wright  - Salt

Elegance, strength, beauty and maturity resonate from within the anointed voice of Hahira, GA native Lizz Wright. After hearing, Lizz sing (No One But Myself To Blame) on pianists Joe Sample’s “Pecan Tree,” (2002) I instantly fell in love with the soulfulness that dwells within the cavity of this phenomenal songtress. Ms. Wright’s intuitive phrasings are lyrically charged by her heartfelt compassion with enduring substance on her Verve Records debt titled “Salt.” (2003) From the inception, with “Open Your Eyes, You Can Fly” her voice floats with encouraging lyrics armed with depth and passion. Wright’s voice paints an intimate, yet radiant canvas graced with compelling lyrics. Her vocal prowess is timeless, and filled with genuine nuances that are exuberant and everlasting. Lizz Wright should no doubt, be a permanent fixture in the artistic landscape of jazz, gospel, soul, pop and blues. I’m excited and definitely looking forward to Ms Wright’s new project coming in June on Verve Records titled “Dreaming Wide Awake
