  Flutist
and saxophonist Enzo Anastasio graduated in saxophone at the
conservatory Guiseppe Martucci in Salerno, where he got a degree of
second level with the best grade. With the Neapolitan band Midi Funk
he published the album Finalmente Funky (2005). In November 2015 he
released his debut solo album Che Soddisfazione. His second album is
Through The Sky, released on AlfaMusic in 2018.This album features Vincenzo Anastasio on sax, Gregg Bissonnette on drums, Jimmy Earl on bass and David Garfield on piano and keyboard furthermore guitarist Federico Luongo, pianist and keyboardist Mario Nappi, trumpeter Gianfranco Campagnoli, keyboardist and synthbassist Paolo Sessa, trombonist Alessandro Tedesco and vocalists Cheryl Porter, Kalind Haynes and Kaita Kerr. The cartoonistic design of the record cover promises cheerful and relaxed music. The opener Cycling in Venice Beach can be understood in the literal sense. The driving of the bicycle pedals are the first acoustic sounds that make it clear that your music system is still working. But then orderly saxophone harmonies announce the coming happiness. In the beginning you hear the doorbell, then the voices of two children. Cicci and Bongy are probably the names of Enzo's children, who greet their father vividly. Then the band starts precisely with full arrangement and commitment. In case of this piece with the star cast of Gregg Bissonnette on drums, Jimmy Earl on bass and David Garfield on piano and of course the aforementioned musicians. Broken Heart is the aptly title an emotionally charged piece in which Enzo brings out the bandwidth of his instrument. Waiting for an Answer is written by guitarist Federico Luongo. This eclectic contemporary jazz tune takes strong borrowings from bebop and combines numerous solos by the musicians involved such as Enzo, Gregg Bissonette, Jimmy Earl, Federico Luongo, and Mario Nappi. Stevie Wonder composed For Your Love in 1995 for his album Conversation Peace. With vocalists Cheryl Porter, Kalind Haynes and Kaita Kerr in the forefront and an impressive horn arrangement the rendition is a sensational highlight of the album. Cloud combines Enzo's sax and Claudia de Curtis wonderful vocals to an irresistible tapestry. To emphasize is Nappi's excellent keyboard solo. The aforementioned is also responsible for the following piece Polarity. In this tune it's all a bit weird. Breath of North Figueroa offers a harmonious alternative in the sense of smooth jazz. The final song Stare Bene a Metà is an instrumental version of Pino Daniele's love ballad in a affectionate transposition. The stylistic range of Enzo Anastasio's album Through The Sky is amazing.
