Ukrainian multi-instrumentalist Konstantin Klashtorni returned to his homeland near Kiev last year, a decision has been brewing for many years. At that time there was a strict ban on artists performing, which made survival massively difficult. For Konstantin a trigger to make a final decision.

In light of the Russian invasion, which is quickly turning into a campaign of destruction and has brought the world to the brink of a new world war, this decision seems worth considering. The present album was released in January 2022 and may be judged as Konstantin's very own sign of life. He has assured me that he wants to persevere.

The album opens with the aptly titled Letters From Home. The appealing melody is played with guitar and saxophone and surprises by its for Konstantin unusual structural nature.

With Far Behind Klashtorni returns to his time-honored repertoire, which is characterized by a recourse to tried-and-true instrumental approaches. On Intimate Connection Konstantin relies on his sax, solo and in overdub harmony, in combination with synth guitar and flutes.

The Sweetest Thing is the one you mostly adore. For Konstantin its a wonderful arrangement, superb performance and perfect instrumentation and he is so right! Good Times Roll takes it in a relaxed swing in a question and answer performance between piano and sax.

Diamond Girl is usually called such women who are fixated on diamonds and leave moral aspects aside. Konstantin has succeeded in the song so well that it could also be perceived as a hymn of praise to such women.

This Jazz Masquerade is not a cover of George Benson's former hit but Konstantin's very own composition. Come Share My Love reveals that Konstantin listens very closely smooth jazz music, because his music hits the nerve of the time.

We are slowly approaching the warm season, so what could be more obvious than writing the next summer hit with One Summer Night. The final curtain drops with Fabulous, Konstantin's farewell.

Konstantin Klashtorni never disappoints us with his music. Smooth Pack Volume 5 of his eJazz Artistry series is no exception.
