Born in the Black Forest, Germany saxophonist Arno Haas is ready to conquer the smooth jazz world. He formerly performed in the Blues and jazz world with Franco Ambrosetti, Brian Bromberg, Ricky Lawson, Mick Taylor, Bob Malach and many more.

On 4th of November, 2013 Arno released his debut album Magic Hands. A first work is always the showcase, with which an artist signals, in which musical direction he intends to go. To make his album perfectly, Arno assured the collaboration of known musicians such as Tom Saviano, Brian Bromberg, Jeff Golub, Thom Rotella and many more. Now you can gues where the journey goes to.

The album was recorded in L.A. by Tom McCauley, Rob Chiarelli, Tom Saviano and some more. Starting song is You Better Watch Out, composed and performed by keyboardist Michael Friedinger. If you love the music of Candy Dulfer, Maceo Parker or other funky musicians, then this piece is your first choice.

The implementation of Tom Saviano's A Leap of Faith is a living perfection. So Arno has invited many of the musicians who already played along on the original version. The following romantic piece Don't Doubt My Love is also adapted from Tom's album Crossings. Arno gives the song with his soprano sax a new identity.

Arno isn't only a good performer but also an excellent composer. He delivers a prove with B Dong C. Randy Wildman's piano solo is a welcome addition to Arno's melodious improvisation. With Night Moves follows the third take from Crossings. While One More Dance is a vocal song on Crossings, offers Arno an instrumental version with equal success.

Arno returns with his own composition Magic Hands, leaning on the jazz-fusion side. From Shaun Labelle's album Desert Nights is the next piece Spin Cycle offering a trio with Tom Saviano on alto saxophone, Everette Harp on tenor saxophone and Arno Haas on soprano saxophone nearly covering the whole range. A fast paced and powerful song.

On Sahara Nights Arno allures with a mesmerizing mixture of alto and soprano sax. The duet with Randy Waldman on piano is divine. Final piece is a rendition of Tom's All for You from the album Crossings.

The music of Arno Hass's album Magic Hands is overall excellent. I hope he delivers on his next album more of his own compositional creativity.
