South Jersey born bassist Allen Carman started his professional music life with the band Renegade, but then put music on hold to become a lawyer. After more than twenty years law practice he returned to his musical roots.

With his new founded band The Allen Carman Project featuring Phillippe Saisse on keyboards, Gumbi Ortiz on percussion, Andy Snitzer on sax and Luis Alicea on drums he is ready to storm the charts.

The debut album is entitled Carmanology, and includes eight original songs. The group comes up with an incredible star cast of guest musicians as there are guitarists Nile Rogers, Marc Antoine, trumpet players Rick Braun, Don Harris, saxophonists Andy Snitzer, Bill Harris, trombonist Michael Davis and violinist Evan Garr.

Groove Salad was the first track, which was released as single in 2016 featuring the core of The Allen Carman Project with  strikingly energetic saxman Andy Snitzer. Andy is always serving a passionate listening experience.

Hearsay is the second single release of the formation in 2017. The entire potential of the group already unfolds on this piece. Allen's powerful bass makes itself felt as a dominant instrument. A special delicacy offers State Of Mine with the world-famous top guitarist Nile Rogers, who with his unmistakable groove also lends brilliance to this piece. It shouldn't go unmentioned that Nile has also chosen this track in a shortened version as the title song of the Chic album It's About Time (2018).

The band's diversified positioning is confirmed by the samba piece Carisma, which recalls the good times of the composer Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim. Marc Antoine masters this genre with sovereignty on his acoustic nylon guitar. Morning After featuring Alan's bass running, Rick Braun's muted trumpet and Phillippe Saisse on keyboards and vibraphone reminds me of the most expressive music of Allen Parson's Project, The Doors or the Steve Miller Band. Instrumental fusion at its best.

Carmanology finally steps into the jazz fusion realm with Andy Snitzer as protagonist. Keyboardist Phillippe Saisse pushes the envelope with a special Paul Hardcastle flavor. The horns of Don Harris,  Bill Harris and Michael Davis make El Fanfaron to an inspiring highlight for brass enthusiasts.

Phillippe Saisse introduces into Bodega Alien with a Come Together influenced clavinet. Evan Garr on electric violin provides a strikingly emphasized jazz fusion accent in the style of Jean-Luc Ponty. So many connect with Joni Mitchell's bittersweet and moving song River (1971) their very own memories. The band shows their true musical greatness especially on this unpretentious Christmas tune of internal luminosity.

The Allen Carman Project will burn with Carmanology a path of creative excitement through the contemporary jazz world. This genre can already no longer be imagined without this group.
